1 Reviews of the Hoolie 3
By: Nordlander Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating:
I recently (March 2014) bought the Wild Country Hoolie 2 for general light weight use. I've got more robust and heavier tents for winter and wild weather, but for a lot of the time in the UK this little tent is absolutely fine and goes up in a 2-3 minutes without any fiddle factor. So far it stood up to what seemed like a couple of nights of continuous rain, and because it is roomy and well ventilated you don't get that clammy claustrophobic feeling you can get with some of the really light weight single hoop tents.
With two people its a bit more cramped but there is just about room for two backpacks and boots in the porch, with a bit of room left for cooking if the weather is really bad. One excellent bit of design is that the zip entrance can be opened from the top underneath a small rain cover. This means you can cook inside the porch without getting wet. The zip to the inner tent feels a bit cheap, but at around £120, overall it is a real bargain for a well thought out non-fuss design which does the job.

Manufacturer's Description
The Hoolie 3 tent offers a great deal of space for its relative weight and pack-size. The porch area is larger than similar tents on the market, making it ideal for group use and cycle touring.
It's tunnel design makes it quick and easy to pitch. The inner tent is attached to the flysheet, so it goes up 'as one' which makes it ideal in wet weather! Plusthe poles are colour-coded which helps for simplified speed pitching. This is an ideal tent for Duke of Edinburgh, enabling a fast pitch at the end of a long day, with plenty of room to store boots, rucksacks etc.
This 3 man tent includes plenty of ventilation, with vents under the hoods at each end (front vent can be adjusted). It uses reliable lightweight Superflex alloy poles and tried and tested Wild Country, high performance flysheet and groundsheet fabrics. Fully waterproof and taped fly and groundsheets provide great protection from the elements.
Groundsheet protectors (footprints) to prolong the life of the tent and help keep it clean can be purchased separately.
Features: Spacious. External pole sleeves. Tent ptiches 'as one'. Superlex Alloy poles. Waterproof. Taped seams. Zip covers. Conensation Management.
